Got this tip from my buddy Mitch, to protect your door edges from getting dinged or nicked if you have exposed studs on your garage walls.

Buy the foam pipe insulation wraps, sold as 8 foot lengths, and they have a pre-cut seam. Open the seam, slide them over the 2x4s and you've just made a cheap guard. They were about $1.69 at Sears, and I got 3, since I park all over the place in our garage (from what I've been told). Don't even need to nail or screw them in since the foam hugs pretty tightly.

Pretty nifty I thought, one of the cheapest mods!

Also, he put one on his jack handle as well (I was just 'reminded' of this mod).

Thank you...Heloise!! :mick:

Good Idea. I don't have studs showing, but do have a damn pole in the center of the garage. Put an insulation wrap on it years ago

Good idea. I bought my construction manager that built my house a bottle of Jack, and in return he sheet-rocked and insulated my entire garage!!!
