This is for those of us who don't or didn't know how to remove those nasty bird droppings that get baked into your clearcoat. A few days ago I took my Mach to work only to find after 12 hours that I had a bird dropping about the size of a quarter on my hood that had gotten baked on by the hot sun.
I carefully removed it even though it was pretty hard and dry. I then wash off the surface which left the spot etched in the clearcoat. I tried using a clay bar, light clearcoat compound, they didn't work.
I finally took out a piece of 2000 grit sandpaper and color sanded the spot lightly. It left the area scratched pretty good after using some 3M Foam Pad Glaze, it looked like a million bucks again. Spot and all came out. That is all. :mick:

Just got stationed here in South Texas and birds LOVEEE to POOP on my Cobra!!! It took my 30 minutes with claybar to get a certain spot off. After that I waxed the entire car and then did it again. Now the POOP wipes off easily. I think WAX is the KEY..and alot of it-Shane

That's how to do it, but it would have been a bit easier if you would have used a fine cut compound rather than glaze. I bet that is the shiniest spot on the car though. :mick: 3M rocks

Pretty much Darren. I need to 3M the whole car when I get a chance. :mick:

When you go to buy the stuff, tell them what you are trying to do. There are alot of products. Not all are for machine polishing. :mick:
