I spray my engine down with Greased Lightning or Simple Green, let it sit a few minutes, then use a water hose and spray it off with pressure. Then I get my air hose and dry it off. I Armor all the hoses and black plastic, but wipe them off so dust doesnt stick bad.

I blow it off with a leaf blower, spray with the hose, leaf blower again, then hit it with tire foam. Always comes out nice. I've always seen Simple green work well too.

Simple green let sit a few minutes then steam clean or hose it off carefully.

I like the armor all foam trick...spray it and leave it alone..then go in and just wipe down the heavily soaked areas. I've never let the motor get dirty enough to have to use simple green or a degreaser so I'm not much help there.

1. Simple green everything, and let it sit. Go smoke...it's a great timer.
2. Hose down everything (not the filter, if you have an exposed one), and then start the car, let it run for about 5 minutes to get warm, then shut down)
3. Armor all everything (yes, the cheap stuff works best here for some reason)
4. Start car, let run for 3-4 minutes.
5. Shut it off, open hood again, and wipe everything down using a clean rag. VIOLA! new car look.
P.S. I used to detail cars at a car lot...and hated the overgreased look they had. If you're engine is really (and I mean REALLY) dirty, substitute carb cleaner for the simple green. I know that sounds drastic, but if you let it sit for 10 minutes, then hose it down, it won't hurt anything...trust me, I've done it literally 100's of times. and it works wonders to make a ****** car look clean.

oh good, this is one I needed to know too. I am not about to use Qtips and all that crap to get the dirt off. Simple Green I can do!

I use socks and Armor All. I put the sock on my hand and spray all around it. Then I just get under the hood and go to town. I stroke every pipe :omg: Then go back over the cold air and supercharger with a clean soft rag. Hope this helped..and dont incinuate..HA HA-Shane
