I dont know how many people are one here with bikes but my parents are giving me a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja EX500. the only problem is trying to find some cheap insurance. I want to have the bike for the good gas milage. but so far the cheapest I have seen is $200 a month. I am looking at mostly just for comutting to work. well if anyone knows anything that can help let me know. thanks.

How ald are you....you should be paying 200 a year.
Try progressive insurance.

I'm 19 riding a Honda CBR600F4i. My driving record has a 'few' scratches on it and through progressive without any personal record of insurance with the company I pay $50 a month. I know for my age with a driving record like mine this really is not that bad. Especially since this is my first sport bike.

Heck If it is owned outright and you only carry Liability should be like 200/yr. Last bike I hade liability only n was under 2 bills a yr.

yeah, no reason to have more than liability in my mind, unless the padres are still making payments on it. I used to pay like 125 bucks a year on my cruiser...being under 25 may throw a tiny monkeywrench in this thing though as well...

bikes don't do much damage in an accident or get ridden much in most cases, thus the low insurance rate on them. You are definitely getting gouged for some reason.
I would continue to shop until you find a more manageable quote....surprised Progressive is so much as they are usually very affordable on motorcycle insurance...

Man you can get it cheaper. Wehn I was 21 in Colorado I had a GSX-r and it ran me 28 a month, USAA all the way, rates drop for multiple vehicles. However, all insurance companies consider the "how long have you been riding" phrase literally. I'm now an instructor for MSF I've been riding so damn long:) On an EX500, you should pay like 10 bucks a month. Lowest I paid was in Florida on a Cruiser I had it was 11 bucks a month full coverage. Germany is notorioulsy high on bike insurance due to the Autobahn and so many tracks, you should be able to find cheaper.
If you haven't done it, get the MSF course, it will save you on insurance, period, it will also teach you a few things, if your military, it's free through the base.

I was just saying that with State Farm I was paying $50 a month for the 6R than $200 a month for a 500

Got GMAC Rider ins. for $400 a year!!! State Farm was running $70 a month, until they decided to not allow me to renew my policy for no reason. State Farm sucks!!!! I am 33 with a clean as a whistle driving record too.
