If you stay around 400-450 rear wheel hp and with a safe tune it will last.. Anything more than that it will be pistons or rods that will go first.. If you do not abuse the car the rear end will be fine.. The clutch will be the weak link in the drive train unless you have already upgraded.. Good luck if you go bosted..

bottom end first if you want 500hp. while the motor is out put a good clutch in it. dont worry about the trans or rearend unless you will be running some stickies on the back.

t-45 transmissions arent the greatest if you are going to deadhook off the line with alot of power. if you are budget building and have your heart set on more power first then you should run street tires to take the stress off the trans and rearend

Bro they said the same thing as i was trying to, just got here before me.....lets start off with your rearend, if it was my cobra i really woulndt try to go over 450hp, that is just to be safe. Since I DO know that you have a stage III clutch in there.....so without forged interenals like james said the first thing to break is what you have in your bedroom right now....pistons and piston rods....aka BOTTOM END.....thats just where most of the beating is......later bro play it smart....

the biggest thing im consirded about is the health of my baby....power can wait...till everything is built to support it...so thanks for the advice man

thank you james it is a teksid.....jacob theses motors were produced in a high volume; therefore meaning that are proved for reliablility...i know a guy right now that is in MN and took a teksid block, started a build and is pushing 18 psi at 8xx hp.....what i am trying to get to is the block you have right now will be fine for 500hp under the right setup....

Absolutely, the teksids have been proven to over 1k hp. I'm just not so sure about the bottom ends. I'd say 450hp is "safe" but still on borrowed time.
