My name is Douglas, I just recently purchased my 1965 Mustang "show car" @ a gift price! It has a 302 ci motor out of a 1972 Torino w/ original 4 speed manual transmission. I just bought a 351 ci Windsor motor for my "Pony" and I would love to find a 1993 Cobra T-5z manual transmission for it. I am a mechanic, yet never been into ford much. There is alot that i do not yet know, which i will have to learn along the way. ALL help and advice will be greatly appreciated!

28 Oz. balance flywheel as all 351s are early balance.
Headers for a 351 in an early Stang are a pain.
Lakewood and/or Quiktime have a bellhousing,you
will want a cable bell for clearance.Probably have
to buy or build a trans xmember, maybe a yoke and a bastard joint
for the driveshaft and it might need to be shortened.Get it balanced
as well.
I am not into early Stangs but I know there are a few places that have
a T5 conversion kit for them.

I found this link that might help you. http://www.stangnet.com/tech/t5swap.html Back in 2000, I converted my 69 351w 4 speed to a Tremec 5 speed. Dark Horse Performance had a complete kit with Tranny at a decent price. It came with a spacer plate to bolt up to my stock bellhousing,a transmission yoke,a crossmember, and shifter handle. It all worked well with my stock linkage.www.mustangsunlimited also sells conversion kits.
Good luck with your project,
Tom
