Alright,

I am thinking about starting to purchase the parts one by one as I find the deals online. I need to know from people that have experienced this build-up. Looking for a list of parts from the Blower itself, injectors, mass air, TB, fuel pumps, etc...

What brands have you used? Keep in mind 700HP to the rear wheels is my goal. I do not want to sacrifice driveability. And from what I have heard, people have done it pretty easily with the right parts and tune.

Remember KB gives a 10% off to Military and it always better to buy new...just ask Steve:marc:

I have a 2.8 mammoth, my 3rd KB on this car.

Fuel system is a glenn's sumped tank, fuelab pumps/filters, -10 feed, -8 return, custom CPR rails, 80lb injectors.
You can get 700 with the returnless system and dual GT pumps, Fore hat, dual fpdms, 63lb injectors, stock rails, -8 feed. The max on that is about 750 however, so there isn't a lot of room for growth.

If you're on the stock bottom end, plan on a piston upgrade now or a rebuild in the future.

The mammoth install requires cutting of sheet metal, extending wiring harnesses etc. It's not as "bolt on" as the other blowers.

You will lose low end grunt, but the top end is insane.

Thanks everyone. Keep the info coming. I am only looking at 700HP, I don't want to have to change out pistons, etc.

This is what I am talking about...took this from this link (STOCK BOTTOM END COBRA THROUGH CATS AND STOCK FUEL SYSTEM:

"Tests were run on a 100% stock low mileage ‘03 Cobra with 100% stock engine (no headers, x pipe, cams, ported heads, larger injectors, pumps, rails, lines, etc.) through the stock cats. Cat back exhaust was used on all tests as the majority of Cobra owners use one - and a fresh set of NGK TR6 plugs with the BOOST-A-SPARK™. These tests illustrate the positive effect on HP from reducing inlet restriction on Twin Screw Supercharger Kits. Note how at 3000 rpm, HP and boost are approx. the same (16-17 psi) for all 3 inlet systems 1. stock, 2. open 12” filter and 3. Mammoth™. The 12” open filter increased power by 49HP over stock inlet. The Mammoth™ 2.8H made 703HP or +198HP over stock inlet and 149HP over the 12” open filter. Boost with the Mammoth™ system jumped progressively to 20 psi at 6000 rpm with lower air charge temps. At 704, the Ken Christley “tune” with the stock fuel system and BOOST-A-PUMP™ was maxed out. We then installed the complete D’Agostino Racing (phone #954-583-8884) ‘03-’04 Cobra fuel system, raised the boost to 23 psi and the Cobra responded by laying down 744HP on the Dynojet.

I also plan on putting a upgraded fuel system on the cobra as well. :) Can you say 700HP daily driver. :)

You asked for advice. I'm giving you my real world experience, not manufacture's advertising or magazine hype. A stock terminator motor will not hold up to 700rwhp very long as daily driver. The stock pistons do not like heat.

Not completely true...these cars even at stock power level the pistons dont like heat..but if you dont do top end pulls or when your at the track letting it get proper cooldowns between runs and not hotlapping it it will be just fine.

Well I could dyno it for bragging rights to get 700+ HP then just run a less aggressive tune for the streets. It should be fine then correct?

yes...you can do that..a lot of cars are that way...run a pure race gas tune to put up good numbers and then turn it back down on the street.

Great thread and following closely. I am about to purchase yet again another supercharger. Will be my 4th all in all. One question...the Whipple 3.4 is bigger than the 2.8M so why more hype on the Mammoth and huge price difference? Either going with one of the two but not sure yet. Just know I am getting away from this POLISHED 2.2 for a black bigger SC. -Shane

The 2.8 KB out flows and puts down more power than the Wimpple.
Look at all the facts. The 3.4 is nice and you wont be unhappy with it,
but the Mammoth is the ****.

i have to agree and disagree...yes the Mammoth does put down more power than the whipple, but your comparing the 2.8H MAMMOTH to the regular 3.4, if you look at the flow numbers and HP from the gen2 3.4 whipple with crusher intake out does the mammoth hands down. Both are great twinscrews don't get me wrong but there is a reason the twinscrew record is held by a whipple 3.4 crusher..

Hey Marc, seen this for sale over on svtp. Guy claims 627rwhp, daily drives, and 24mpg on the highway.

Looks like he has done exactly what you want to do! Plus another 100hp though :P

Nice! I just hate purchasing someone elses built car if you know what I mean. I know its going to be more expensive for me to build mine, but I know what my cobra has been through. Its been babied it's entire life.

yea when getting a modded car you really gotta be careful. I bought mine already modded a lot with the kb 2.2, the car belonged to the owner of the Ford Dealership in Havelock, NC, with only 2800 miles on the car as of april of last year. Only reason he was selling was he just picked up a 2000 cobra R with 120 miles on it and didnt have room for the termi anymore..

Well I wasnt really suggesting buying it, more like looking at his mods and doing something similiar, maybe even talk to him for more info if you wanted.

The Whipple Crusher is sweet... But Marc I know you don't want to cut up your car and with the 3.4 and the 2.8 you will have to.. After checking out alot of different comb and Mustang Week and talking to the owners for the real world scoop. There is a lot of prob with both with heat when driving it to long..Not going to be happy at all for a daily driver.. I am leaning to a 2.3 Whipple and going to try to get 680hp out of it..And would not have to be worried about it being my DD..But I did see some sweet Twin turbos set ups..:awsome:

I actually stopped and talked to Mike Murillo personally when I was in TX. The reason I want to go with the 2.8 is so I have room to grow in the future. I don't have to turn up the boost right away. I am thinking 600-650 as a DD would be fine.

I will look into the 2.3 as well now that you mention it.
