ok, so, i solved a couple other problems, but one still persists...a violent skipping/misfiring/backfiring, whatever you want to call it, when i accelerate. Other current conditions are running slightly rich. I have changed the air filter from a stock airbox to a conical filter, and cleaned the Mass air sensor, which was disgustingly filthy. now theres no more rpm surge when idling. I just need to fix this skipping issue, i hate it! All plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and coil are new. Fuel filter is new. Im lost...HELP!!! :pullhair:

how do u clean the mass air sensor? my 95 has the same exact "rpm surge" when its just sitting at a red light. especially when the heat is on. maybe if this solved ur problem it might help me out too

is this happening all the time or just when you "cold crank"

well there are two parts to clean, but you should only clean one of them...if you are looking at the mass flo and picture it if you had just that piece in your hand then look through the tube and you should see the sensor, it is very fragile and doesnt need to get wet what so ever. then the other part is the top, you take the top off with a special tool for most of them and them take mass flo cleaner and clean it.

honestly, its intermittent. Most frequently right after i start it up. But i can drive it around for about 20 min, and itll smooth out. but who knows when it will decide to flare up again. thats why im so lost!! lol

ok i think now i now what you are talking about... so you are saying that when you cold crank the first time it will not idle, unless you feather it til it warms up, too if you do take off the acceleration is unresponsive, and sometimes you hear poppin noise coming from the hood. But once it is warmed up and down the road then it is fine...and the same thing happens when you let it set say for 8 hours? Is this you problem and does most of these things i said happen?
