How do you terminator owners clean the blanket under the hood without destroying it?

I guess you could try one of them little Mean Green Machines for car carpet cleaning. Some people end up dieing them but like I said..just get rid of it and open your vents so the car can vent better. -Shane
This is after the paintjob..

I have a can of flat black paint, I tried a corner of it and it looks pretty good.
I will finish it tomorrow. I hope it last for awhile.

Wouldn't know Mike, mine never got really dirty. As of now, I don't have one on my car due to me having to go with another hood. :)

Mike
Remove it, clean with Simple green, allow to dry, respray with a plastic ( used on platic like patio furniture)satin black. This paint also works great on the fender liners.

thanks for the replies
Jeff, is this available at Home Depot? Is it paint or does it actually dry into some kind of plastic form?

(Of course that is after I had the shop paint what Ford didn't bother to... like the entire underside of the hood)

I went ahead and cleaned it with Simple Green and a brush, and painted it with flat black paint (had paint laying around the garage).
It turned out real well :mick: too bad I did not have a before pic

i tossed mine and cut the vents. you can hear the blower whine a bit more and have more heat ventilation.

So what kind of paint did you end up using Vic?
The gold was Plasti-Kote Engine enamel, hi temp fast dry and the silver was Kryon Chrome which ended up silver on the fabric. Got it a Pep Boys.
Took several coats because as you say it soaked it up like a sponge. Dressed up the edges between the gold and silver with a Q-tip.
