Alright Central Florida Chapter members, and those who live in central florida but don't claim affiliation with the CFC, what are your track experiences at Bithlo? what tires do you like? what electronics are you using? Whats the possibility of a meeting up for a friendly grudge night?

Eric, I found this in another threadNT555R.... Best is to do no more then 8-10 sec burn out. Try to heat em in place then drive forward no more then 10 feet. You heat em to long they turn greasy. I always launched at 2200 rpm slip the clutch a bit in first then hammer it into 2nd. Best pressure I found was 18-20. 18 on hot hot days 20 in the evening and cool days.
Truth be told tho the Nitto's are best on the street. Track they do ok.
Now I also did "heat cycle" them like someone told me... I know for RR tires you need to but some say DR's need it too. I drove them 10 miles at regular street pressure (30psi) then found a nice smooth concrete lot, lowered the pressure to 18 and did a 20 sec burn out. Drove home dismounted them put the pressure back to 30 and let them sit for 24 hours. I put about 12k on em and about 45 passes. This was on a 1997 TBird with a PI conversion, and a 75 shot. Ran 13.0's every pass. Sixty foot.... 1.91 MPH... 107

remember get the Mickeys. softer compound and will get better grip. The Nittos are good for not having to swap out at the track but are a bit harder and will still spin. At least until we sort out the rpm and rate of cluch release

I'll be going with a set of mickey's myself, i've ran bfg and they weren't half bad either.

Brian, what other mods do you have? you're pullin good numbers with 13.36 you must have something you're not sharing? Auto?
I have same gears and was pullin 103mph too! but @ 13.70 How did you get four/tenths?

Thank you. All performance related mods are mac axle back, pypes off road x-pipe, x-cal 3 with VMP 93 octane performance tune, runs last week were made on mt dr's. As far as suspension the only thing is the eibach pro kit. All else is stock including paper filter (39k miles), shifter, LCA's, 3.31's, ect.
During the times in my sig it had the same mods as now minus tuner and springs.
What was your 60'? Last year on the stock 18" bfg's mine went 13.7@104 with a 2.3 60'...that was bogging and no wheel spin in 1st gear....also without the xcal/tune....goes to show you what a difference the 60' will make.

reflashed obviously the wrong way and my 60' was 2.2 Actually 2.193 i have C&L CAI and pulleys, CMCV deletes and you're pulling off better numbers. I have to expect you have more experience with your car than I. saw your post about missing a gear and roasting the tires. i had my rev limiter on too. definitely need better grip and cluch discipline

Just out of curiousity what are you shifting at? I think i'm anywhere between 6200-6400 but don't hold me too that. I know i'm not hitting the rev limitier and it is set at 6500 from VMP. I know it may cost alittle more but have you considered getting a tune else where?

i have 6 tunes in my SCT that were written by Evolution in Pennsylvania, so other than trial and error, i have no idea what's the right set up. i have everything unlocked and my defaults are the mods i've already put on. That night was my 1st run in this car. just went over 25K and wanted to wait til i had time on it before tryin to blow it up. Shifted at 6200 where i have the limiter set. keeps me from getting stupid on the street

Brian, We both ran good last night (trimdog and I) but i have to admit he's much better on the tree than me. We desperately need better clutch control and DR's I ran a best of 13.54 @ 105 and Eric finnaly broke in to the 13's and over 100. we still can't get under a 2.0 60' Suggestions?

Pracetice Practice Practice...sounds like your both getting better each visit to the track so congrats! Also you already know what dr's will possibly do and I can't recommend them more for drag racing, you'll just have to learn launch points all over again as i'm still trying to do since i've only been a couple times, but the street tires and dr's don't compare when speaking of traction. Don't feel bad, i'm terrible on the tree too lol

i'm doing the KB this weekend. but i'm still tryin to find the best wheel tire combo for Spinworld. saw a nice redfire with a whipple run 11.52 @ 128 and he had 17x9 bullitts and the ET Streets (26x11.50x17) and he hooked well. but still see a lit of the Drag radials too. Just want to know if an 18" in the 300's would be better with my future 3:73's(obviously bigger contact, but how tall will it be)
