pretty simple should i sell the 66 and try to get a 03-04 cobra?
and also how much do u guys think i would get for this car?
its a 66 gt clone, originally a 6 cyl it now has a 289 with a mild cam and other mods done to it, i dont know exactly what they used when they rebuilt it. it has edelbrock perfomer intake, edelbrock 600cfm carb with electric choke. it runs great, it just has electrical issues (which i know nothing about so i cant fix it) the electrical issues are: the gauges dont work except for the tack i added on there and my rear right turn signal turns on but does not blink, and my heater is disconnected and my foglights are disconnected i do have all the wiring for the foglights i just havent put it on. anyways i posted these pics on another thread but didnt think about this poll unitl now.

Not enough....If i had it i would give you about 7500 for it.....And why is the Demand of Terminators so high now? And didnt you sell this car before?

well it runs real good, if i keep it, which is what ill probably do, i want some good heads for it and a termie 6 speed, and of course upgrade the brakes, im working on fixing my elctrical issues (gauges not working) , i already dropped a edelbrock performer intake on there and it has a mild cam in it, long tube headers, flowmasters, and a edelbrock 600cfm carb among other smaller things, so its in the direction i want its just not as reliable as i want, (damn starter solenoid keeps going out on me)

keep it!!! Have you checked the dashboard regulator/module for your guages? My 70 was doing the same thing, there is a liittle module that provides a steady current to the guages . . give that a try! KEEP THE CAR!!!! I almost sold my 70 to get classic Bronco . . and I am so glad I didn't!

im getting a new regulator for it, see if that fixes the gauges, but my heater blower isnt getting any power either which i think its strange cus they shouldn tbe connected to the same thing. basically nothing on my dash was working when i got it but i got the lights for the gauges to work now i need to get the gauges themselves to work.

Keep it!!!! Everybody has a termie these days it seems, not everyody can own a classic that sweet. A 65-66 Mustang is one of the true classics that even non-car people love!
I had wiring issues on my 65 and a few things that are still not finished so I decided to sell it. I had a buyer but he backed out. I had promised to fix a couple of things and had started on them when the deal fell through. I went ahead and finished them and got my 4 barrell & intake installed and finally got it registered and insured. Since then I have been to some kind of show or cruise almost every weekend. There is nothing like owning a classic!!

thats one of the main reasons i dont want to sell , everytime i take that car out it stops traffic, i have to leave with time to spare cus someone will always stop to talk to me about it. and my biggest fear is selling it and whoever gets it ruins the car. but well see, i just try to not talk to the wife about it, cus the less i bring it up the less shell talk about selling. i have too many cars right now but maybe sometime in the future ill sell my bike and then get a termie or a gt 500.

Definitely keep that classic stang, as stated ^^^ sell bike/other vehicle if that's why the wife's complaining you can always get a termie or gt 500 later.:david::bolt::david:

If your still ?ing selling your classic pony then that probably means you should keep it and think about selling something else....or not say anything fix the pony and start cruising around in it more and maybe the mrs' will forget about wanting it sold :dunno:

Don't sell it. Sure maintaining the 66 can be time consuming but they are easy to work on and troubleshoot. Easier to work on means you don't have to pay someone to fix it or do your mods. Go to a car show, most people will look at the 66 Mustang over the Termie. Granted, the termie will be more comfortable to drive but you'll pay for it.
The gauges, they are so easy to wire up. Your ground is probably broken or disconnected somewhere under the dash. All the gauges except speedo have two wires running to them, 1 is a signal from sender and 2nd one is a common ground. The ground wire you can see splits and runs to all the guages.
The Fuel guage has a yellow wire running off of it that ends up under the car and plugs into the fuel sending unit on the fuel tank. It is about center between the tank and the rear end right where the fuel line runs out. Pull the plug at the tank and ground out the metal part somewhere on the chassis. Turn the key to the acc position and the gauge should rise to full. If not, somewhere beween the guage and sender there will be a break. Or, if the gauge always reads full then the break is shorting somewhere in between, or your gauge ground is not connected somewhere.
Oil ressure has a line running off the oil pressure sender located near the mechanical fuel pump on the side of the engine. There will be a hex shaped log jetting out about 4" with a sender on the end. Attached should be a wire running straight to the oil gauge.
The Volt gauge should have a wire running from the ALT or the starter-solenoid.
The water temp should have a wire running to the temp sender at is screwed to the intake, typically the front end of the intake. If your speedo doesn't work then the cable us probably broken.
The turn signal issue might be a bad dash cluster turn signal indicator bulb. Send a little time studying a wiring diagram. You can find them online for free or in the Hanes or Chiltens manuals.
Anyway,if you get rid of it you might regret it later.
Save your SRB and invest it or put a down payment on a house. But if you're like most Marines I know you'll have too much fun with it.
