Color sanding is part of the process  Thats the most time consuming part pretty much

well, DUH!!! I knew that. You even said there was a difference between polishing and buffing. Kelly is having her car buffed. I'm sure they already polished the bumper, when they mount it on the car, they will buff the entire car out.

I don't have a DA, I don't see myself doing any type of color-sanding in my near future. Maybe when I throw a coat of paint on the Camaro.

Buffing and polishing are the same. :smack: So is cutting and color sanding :darren :hugo:
you dont NEED a DA (which that isnt, its a palm sander) you can color sand wet by hand. It just takes longer

Oh ... well, I don't have a palm sander. And I'm sure as hell not going to color and wet sand a whole car by hand.

me either. It takes about 10 hours to do a whole car with a palm sander, but its somewhat effortless compared to wet sanding by hand

I've seen people do it by hand .... working on a 2'x2' section. I know not to put something in primer and then let it sit for a year before trying to block it. It's like throwing paper at it.

Primer surfacer should block fine after a year. But waiting a year is a bad idea because it can still rust. Its not good corosion protection

sometimes pics do too much justice
when I first painted it, you didnt see the 2 pin holes that appeared after I cleared it. But, I just had to put a drop of clear on them and block them flat. A little trick of the trade. :D

thats one of the inherent problems with glassing out paint. Every little imperfection gets magnified unless you fix it
