PM mike05gt, he can help you.
and no you wont need a tune after you install one. if you go with a bigger MAF, then yes. but for just a CAI.... no.

The best CAI for the 2005-current GT is JLT and C & L. Both of these require a tuner , but well worth it. If you buy a CAI that does not require a tuner than you are wasting your money. JLT states 28-32 rwhp gain.
I have JLT set up 0n my 2005 GT and love it. It really woke the car up

I would think that tuning helped with this impressive gain of horsepower. I would expect that you could get 18-22hp from tuning alone, if not a little bit more. Adding the CAI just improves those numbers.

well i think that you should tune first then test, then install CAI, and then tune and test agian. I know everyone knows this, but how many have done it? is there a inground dyno in SA??

I personally love the C&L CAI. It does require a tune, but as the people before me stated it's well worth every penny because it really wakes up the car.
This pic is from early 2006, right after I installed the CAI but before numerous other mods that now reside under my baby's hood. :)

We typically use JLT and C&L.
I did some testing with a C&L when our 2007 Mustang was bone stock and the results were as follows:
In an hour, a total of 12 passes were made at Milan Dragway (4 passes in each configuration below). Temperature was 92 degrees. The only cool off was the time it took to flash the PCM and install the cold air kit.
1) Bone Stock
2) Stock w/ Premium Fuel Cal
3) Above + C&L CAI
The best of the 12 passes were as follows:
Stock - 14.19 @ 98.01 mph
Stock w/ 93 Octane Tune - 13.95 @ 100.68 mph
93 Octane Tune w/ C&L CAI - 13.65 @ 102.27 mph
sorry to thread jack but what about an 09 v6
If you're still looking for a V6 CAI, I have a Steeda piece in stock that retails for $260 that I will sell for $209 + Shipping.
You can see it on their site here (http://www.steeda.com/products/steeda_cold_air_intake_kit_v6. php).
