First drive in the COBRA

Well, im not sure if anyone knows my story since i'm still fairly new, so I'll share it. :D

I've been stationed in Japan since last march, well in September I found a cobra for a hell of a deal and right where my father lived, so I jumped on it and got the stang. 2003 Cobra Mustang, Sonic blue coupe. Well, I finally got home and drove the car for the first time a few days ago.

I got to houston about 4pm thursday, so that evening we went out for dinner and I told my father I wanted to ride in it before I drove, so he drives there. First thing he does is get on it hard and all I can say is AMAZING. It pushed me back in the seat so hard, I didnt know what to think. We took it up to 150...on a closed course, of course ;) But it was a blast. Well I drive back from the restaurant and done quite well. Only killed it once, lol. Well, I had kept it very calm the whole time, just cruising along. We take off from a stoplight and I ease over a set of railroad tracks, then drop the hammer in first. It gets sideways and I just let out and grab 2nd, and keep cruising. I noticed a car right behind me the whole time, even when I took off and sure enough, it was a COP! I just kept going the speed limit and he followed me for about 20 miles. Never stopped me which I am amazed at and incredibly thankful for!

Well, we drove around town a bit friday just getting lunch and a few things. And out of nowhere I get pulled over, I wasnt speeding or anything! I was a little freaked out. Well, it turns out my inspection was expired and I needed a front liscense plate. This is news to me being that i'm from out of state, but I explained the situation and he let me off with a warning. Went and got the inspection and tags done right after that.

All in all, this car is so awesome to drive. I havent had anyone try and mess with me yet though. It rides very nicely for being what it is, and the rediculous power on tap is very nice.

Nothing better than your 1st drive in your new cobra....except for maybe your 2nd drive, and your 3rd and so on. LOL!

I was the same way when I got my cobra. I made my hubby drive it first and i just rode in it to see what kind of power it had, then I got behind the wheel and fell in love after that. :marc:

Congrats on the new cobra. SB is one of the best colors out there in the 03/04 cobras, besides black. ;)

Congrats on the purchase! It's a Stang to keep for the rest of your life. Oneday it might even turn into your weekend toy. If your car is stock...the ride of your life is yet to come. The potential for these cars is amazing. I've been through stock eaton, ported eaton, KenneBell and working on a Whipple purchase now. My advise is see what your long term goal is and work towards it. I'll be without my Stang for the next 8 months but it'll be worth it! Thank you for your service also man!:marcus:-Shane

Thanks for the comments everybody! I put up pictures in the cinema and i'm working on a video to put up, i'm not real great at the whole video editing thing.

All I have done to it is intake, bassani x-pipe with flowmasters, and dyno tuned with my sct xcal2. Put down 427rwhp on the dyno.
