Ok...I have the 18x10 deep dish bullitts for the back.

Had a UPS damaging issue that about drove my Wife nuts!

But I now have them and have ordered the 18X9 for the front.

Now Im rethinking the rubber.

I was almost sure I wanted
P255/45ZR-18 for the front
and
P285/40ZR-18 for the back.

Nitto NT 555 extremes.

But I saw Mikes and his back was ....what was it Mike....295? 305?

Anyway....wanna adjust for height and want to keep them in the wheel well
on the S197.

Ideas...? :hide:

Is your stang lowered?

I am running Nitto 555 - 255/45 up front on 18x9
295/45 in rear on 18x10

My rear wheels do not stick out of the wheel wells

what ever the factory size was..... for every inch you increase, your supposed to drop 10 on the aspect ratio(tire profile). so without knowing the size, a 295/45 seems good. IMO, id go wider and a lower profile for the back.

Stock size is 235/55-R 17's....on the 2005 S197.

well if you like the look of Mikes, then use them sizes. but IMO, id still go alot wider and lower in the rear. it also depends how low the car is too.

That pic you posted, the side wall is way to thin. Your just asking for a harsh ride and alot easier to damage the wheels

What do you think of these compaired to the Nitto 555 extremes??

Falken Azenis RT-615

295/40-R18 103w $222 in back
and
255/45-R18 99W $189 in front.

Would that combo give me the same diameter?

If you want to run a 40 series sidewall, I would run a 315 width. That will give you less roll in on the edge of the tire, along with a little more height.

If you are trying to figure out differences, try this site:

a 315 would stick out of the wheel well....

Will a 265/40 18 fit up front?

I was thinking:
245/55-18 front & 295/40-18 in back.
or
255/45-18 front & 295/40-18 in back.
or
265/40-18 front & 295/40-18 in back.

??? opinions??

Tires have never rubbed, plenty of clearance and my stang is dropped

If you are looking at Nitto's Extremes here are some size differences:

For 18x9
Size-----------Overall Dia.----- Overall Width
245/45R18 -------26.57 ------- 9.65
245/40R18 ----- 25.67 -------- 9.72
255/45R18 ----- 26.97 -------- 10.16
255/35R18 ----- 25.08 -------- 10.08
265/50R18 ----- 28.43 -------- 10.83

For 18x10
265/35R18 ----- 25.28 -------- 10.47
275/40R18 ----- 26.61 -------- 10.91
275/35R18 ----- 25.59 -------- 10.71
285/40R18 ----- 26.97 -------- 11.42
285/35R18 ----- 25.95 -------- 11.30
295/45R18 ----- 28.31 -------- 11.54

These are the only sizes Nitto Extreme ZR come in for 18" ...I hope this helps :mick:

I know some people that have ran the Falkens type tire and they was not happy at all they switch back to Nitto's...

Lampoon.... is your lowered???? i dont think Hollywood's is, unless im on crack. i kno Mike's is.

even if you used a 335 on a 18 w/o being lowered... you'd have no rub issue unless you had a massive stereo system in the trunk and some 5-way adjustables set on 1

Falkens are a harder compound tire, but still a decent tire for the price. what size are you going with???

if you wanted a sick tire.... pay the money and buy the BFG G-Force KD's or the Toyo RA-1's. IMO, them are the best streey tires available.

The Azenis RT-615 appear to be nice tires. I know some of the other softer series that Falken had wernt that good but this one has great reviews.

255/45-18 in the front on 18x9 and 295/40-18's on an 18x10 in the back.

http://www.discounttire.com/product/tires/falhza.ang.jpg

A harder sidewall is good for me.

$233 each for the 255 and $253 each on the 295's....plus mounting, stems road hazard etc = $1,000,000.00 http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e386/lampooner/Emoticons/driving.gif

I would like to see what the offsets are on these tires and wheels, I dont want them to stick out and I dont want to worry about them hitting the fender when we are in a hard turn at 80 mph.. any help? thanks.

hell yes, here in SA we have this transition from 35N to 410 west, its a 25mph curve that I do in the stang at #%mph,, couldnt really tell you the speed because im driving and I cant look down, and the passengers cant see the speedo from were thier faces are stuck on the windows or in the lap of the person next to them.. LOL.. but you get my drift.. I dont want to worry about body roll.. I dont tow (DUH) and I dont put full grown adults in the back (like they would fit) so wieght is not the problem.. thanks.

Im from SA as well.....one of these days we can meet up and you can check em out.
I aint doing that turn at 80 though. Seen way too many accidents there.

Exforbrian
06-30-2008, 05:36 PM
what scares me is the thought of a tire giving out on the front left in the middle of that turn.. LOL.. that would be rough.. as for meeting I would like that. I tried to meet up with some other stangers, and they just looked at me like I was not wearing clothes... :pointlaff

Yeah I had that the last time I went to Biffs. I took my Bullitt and no one would talk to me. So we went into Whataburger, ate then went home.

I pulled up in my 95 vert, and I asked them if they had seen any mustangs around? and they just stared at me. so we parked and walked around, and hung out for hours, and still they would not talk to us.. its like they were a tight group that didnt like new people.. ohhh well.. thier loss. I love my stangs, and I am a moderator on badwheels.net so I feel that I contribute allot to the sites that I frequent..
