I am trying to hook my amp and subs up to my 08 mustang GT. I have 2 questions. What is the best way to run the power wire through the firewall. What 2 speaker wires on the stereo do I connect the line output converter to.

ive used those converters befor and i just hooked it up to the rear speakers and it worked great, for the power try to find a boot on the fire wall that has a little strech and try to push it through or drill a new hole and get rubber grummet that fits

I would just go off the back speakers also like mustangman said just tap into them don't cut. and I have an o6 and I ran it threw a boot on the driver side and along the trim pannel but there is some double sided tape on those just be careful pulling them up but they do set back down right and then I ran my amp to trunk and just took out the bootom of the seat and ran under there. You are probably going to need to buy some DYNOMAT it keep your trunk from rattling apart and sounding bad.

you can make a small hole in any of the rubber grommets on the firewall and squeeze it thorought there real tight so u dont get any heat or noise from the engine bay and about the converter you want to hook it into the rear speakers just because believe it or not most cars nowadays have some small of small stock amp my stang has one and its not even the premium sound system its the basic one anyways i have done it both ways and if u hook it up to the back of the radio then youll lose power cause u wont be getting the power from the amp now if it doesnt have a stock amp its still a lot easier just to hook it up to the rear speakers anyways and if u dont have a stock amp its not going to make a diffference where u put it anyways.

if you drill a new hole go buy a grommet first that way u know what size to make the hole just make sure its nice and tight

make sure u dont cut the wires if u end up having stereo issues and they see those wires cut it might void the warranty for your radio, everything i put in i always make sure i can take it back out without making a big ol mess. and about the dynomat, that just depends on how loud u plan on making this system. i have a reallly loud system and i dont have dynomat cus i like the clarity i only turn it up when someone wants to hear it or something ike that so theres no sense of getting dynomat if youre not going to use it.
