Sure, just use motormounts from a 289. Easy swap, will need a bellhousing for a small block too.

your also going to want to change out all the suspension, the 6cyl. stuff just isnt strong enough, and will rub on every bump you hit and its not to safe some off the parts arnt as strong as the v8 parts
ive done this conversion before and if you need any help just let me know:mick:

And your exhaust needs to be changed, go with some long tubes and a crossover

I can get you a Great deal on some Heidts Suspension stuff. That way you can be coil over with disk brakes and get rid of those shock towers.
lmk if interested.
Also, I have some stock 289 suspension stuff too.

I agree with Mustangman, the I6 suspension is weak. You will also want to address the Brakes, upgrade to 5 lug V8 spindles, swap out the 7.5 rear for 8 minimum or go 9". The I6 driveshaft is tiny. You will need a better tranny too. Steering center link is also weak, you will need the V8 center link and tie rod ends. And, you will need to upgrade your radiator, the i6 one will not keep your V8 cool very well. Exhaust was already addressed, since you're buying these you mind as well get long tube headers like OrangeVert said.
Nothing against the Heidts kit but for less money you can upgrade the stock suspension and still have a very nice handling car. In "my opinion" the suspension gains of the Heidt's kit do not outweight the cost. In the end, the wheel and tire do not care what they are bolted to. A well set up suspension can save money that can be spent elsewhere, like brakes. As soon as i can post up pics I'll show what I did to my suspension on E-5 budget in my own garage.
