Since none of you guys show the classics forums any love :P ill post here.

This is my first car that I will be working on. So I'm new to the paint and body market. Are there any suggestions for shops around San antonio that anyone suggests? I called around to some places but honestly they could quote me anything, because I don't know what it should be costing me.

Also, I know this is a Paint and body forum, But since i have you here :) I have also called around to have my engine rebuilt. So far I have had quotes from 550 to 2000. All of which is a long block rebuild. The shop is R&R machine shop on south side for the 550. Is this a good deal? any suggestions for another shop?

Thanks ahead of time!
-Robert

Millers Machine shop on Grissom road does all my machine work. $550 is suspiciously low. Millers will probably be about $1000 for a long block. IF a shop will even give you a price for paint work, they certainly wont do it over the phone. Not on something like that. DONT go to Herreras on Culebra. I've already redid one of their screw ups and another is pending after the lawyer battle.
