the older kenne bell's use to have a problem with the snout freezing, however with the new styles that's been completely fixed...however if you're wanting a small 2.x litre blower (KB 2.2, KB 2.4, or Whipple 2.3) you're stuck with a whipple as the 2.2 and 2.4 aren't being made any longer. you'll still be able to get the 2.6, 2.8, 2.6H and 2.8H blowers but if i were going that big i'd just go ahead and get the 3.4 whipple and call it quits
and what're you gonna do with a whipple pullied for 35psi dean? bolt it to the handle bars and make the sound?:hugo:

If you ever wanted to go TT, just save up. I'm speaking from experiance. Went from KB 2.2, to a KB 2.8H, now to a custom TT kit. I should have done the TT instead of the 2.8H, but there was only one kit out at the time for our Cobras. Now I gotta worry about getting rid of the 2.8H hopefully soon, so I'm not out of pocket too much $.

oh yeah, before i ever got turbo period it's twin GT's, 60#-ers, modified FPDM's, and BAP just in case lol...then i have to unload my prochamber lol...i'll probably have a Y-pipe fabbed to bolt to the IRS cat-back, or solid if i ever go that route with an SLP electric cutout for the track or just for annoying the hell out of people lol

I've got the Whipple on my 10th ann. COBRA and I wouldn't change it. If you want instant boost go with the roots super-charger. Those twin's won't kick in for a bit but, if you got the money and a good tuner and you want somthing original go with both. That will be original and have an ungodly amount of HP.

If you build your turbo's around your engine combination, you can be in boost by 2000rpm.
I would say do what YOU like best. I prefer the Kenne Bell over the whipple, but if I had my choice, it would be twin hair driers hanging off the front of that biznitch.

i like the sound of the whipple more than the kenne bell. i am not a fan of the rc car sound. whipple 3.4s also run around $3800 vs. kenne bells at over $5k. TT cobras have so much potential but the eaton sound is just meant to be there.

The KenneBell 2.8H only runs $3649.00. Don't know where ya got over $5K from. The Mammoth 2.8H runs $5299.00 for the whole tuner kit which includes a dual 75mm TB, cold air kit(which includes filter, meter and tubing), and the Mammoth manifold.

Look if you want to compare and need some visual aids get on youtube and type in whipple cobra or kennebell cobra and see some differences but, in the end it comes down to what you want b/c the blowers are so very similar. Same twin rotor or screw (same diff.) and both are roots style and the only difference is the max displacement for each blower in which case they are all neglegable. Each offers one to mirror the others but, Whipple does have more options out now. To include this massive 5.0L W305. So they have a 2.3, a 3.3, and now a 5.0L. WOW
look it up on the whipple site.

Street/Pump Gas: The Whipple W140ax is perfect for the job.
Strip/Race Gas: The KB 2.8H is perfect for the job.

I ended up going with a Whipple. 580 RWHP at 15psi isn't too shabby. I'm bumping it up to 17psi and adding LT's as well. I should be around 615 RWHP when it's all said and done.
Whipple FTW!!!

Well, with the LT's at 15.6psi, I made 610 RWHP/565 RWTQ. I increased power by 28 RWHP/44 RWTQ by adding back the 2psi boost loss from the LT's into the Terminator. Whipple FTW!!!

if you found a new KB 2.6 @ $3600 I would tell you to but 2 of them and seel the other to pay for most of the 1st one. My kit new would have been $6800. KB is the best at producing HP on demand and easy to install. where the whipple is probably all you need for a daily driver it won't put out the #s a KB will. BTW invest in the right pulley and no matter which you go with, buy the GT 500 pumps and harness.:marc:

Whipple, but I am biased. Not real impressed with the numbers people are making with the 2.6 or 2.8 KB either.
2.8 KB Mamouth set ups are making 700HP to the rear wheels on a street car. Thats sounds pretty impressive to me.
I see you have the Whipple installed. Numbers yet without the Nitrous?

That's not exactly true. The Shelby has always used a whipple blower, ever since the came out in 2005. The Super Snake uses a KB from the factory.

604/552 with 15psi or so. Really safe tune. Was only seeing 18.5 degrees timing at WOT and 11.5-11.6 a/f. Need to try it with the bottle. Haven't really seen to many numbers for the Mammoth KB, but is supposed to be the best of thiers. Tried to update my signature, but said my sig pic is too big?

i beg to differ with you on this one. i talked to the guys doing the SS i asked them why they weren't using whipple's they said they didn't make one yet for that vehicle. now if they do now i don't know.

There is nothing different between the SS and a Shelby GT500 (5.4L DOHC)motor other than the blower. It's just a simple blower swap which gives it the additional horses. So in return, the whipple that goes on a GT500, does fit on an SS. It's just that the KB 2.8H is more efficient than the whipple that comes with the Shelby's.
