Just curious before I buy one. I was checking to see if anyone has a spare heat shield for a starter on a 93 5.0L. Or if anyone has any other ideas besides the heat wrap. I just don't know how well the wrap would work, but it must work since other people use it. I am on my 2nd starter now since there is no barrier between the headers and the starter, the last one fried. Thanks for any suggestions:mick:

I didn't even know there was a heat shield. I know only the 93's had them but thats about it. I have one on my 85 w long tubes and have not had any issues.

Well, that is the problem, my car is an 89 but the motor is a 93. The one that came on the car when I bought it fried and then I bought another one and it fried and then bought another one and haven't driven it since then due to I have been afraid of frying another one, I cannot afford to keep buying starters.
