this project consist of Steves "UBSTANG" vert, its called project skittles for a simple reason, its all different colors, for the moment, he has come up with a red and black paint scheme that is in my opinion a sweet idea, i will be posting pic of the prep and of course the final job, it will take me this week to get it done, i want him to have it for christmas, i have some pic of the car before and ill start posting them soon, if not tomorrow,

that looks more like a deck lid than a hood. I'll keep an eye on this project tho. If there is a Harbor freight in your area (you could order them online too) they have folding stands that would work much better than saw horses for about $20. I have quite a few of them.

ya I like the folding stands,, lol But I have a beer wallet with a champain taste ... lol ight dan its looking good so far, I bout flipped out when I got home today and My car was MIA, then I relized "DAN THE MAN" had it ... I know its in good hands.. I will be over tomorrow .. what time you want me over ?

the compressor is under the bench, its a 30g tank, i painted my car with it so it should be able to handle the little panels on a vert, but with the cold weather might have to wait until tuesday to spray

well the red is on and drying, will hit the blk on thursday, paint shop told me to wait like 6 hours, but its cold out and ill feel better to wait the day,

i have a finks, think thats how u spell it, its an HVLP gun

spelled Binks. Good name, but with an hvlp (or even conventional) that 30 gallon compressor is gonna die an early death. They are prolly good for about 5 paint jobs if its oiless and in the garage when you paint.

Painted my first 1974 Mustang2 (eeek, I know) in 1978 with Laqeuir and wet sanding...a lot of hard work!
Keep an eye out for cat eyes and sags!

ya i have to say that there is a run in the drivers door,"poor lighting", but it will sand out, the blk is on the car, just need to wait to pull it out and paint the hood and deck lid, i have pic of the car so far, but dont want to post them just yet, want the car done before i post the rest, in my opinion it looks bad azz

ya i picked it up at the paint shop i buy my paint at, he said its a pretty good gun, he can get parts to rebuild it if i need it, ya i have a binks 2001 cup gun at work, had it for 8 yrs now and it was used when i got it then, still one of the best guns we have out there

I like Devilbiss myself. I love the Plus. Compliant, not HVLP. Still havent decided if the CVi is better than the Plus, but the CVi is alot lighter and more comfortable. THey spray almost the same, just undesided on the better gun

Steve, i have to put this up on the boards, the garbage men came to get the trash and i had all three of them up in the garage checkin out the car, one of them wants me to teach him how to paint, they were :drool:droolin :drool:over it, so that should tell you something about the finish on the car,

Well, the paint looks good, but I'm not to fond of the wing and the line on the doors.. I would have just let the black straight back. (Just my personal opinion) all in all it's nice.
