Don't know what to suggest cuz you're going way better than I am on that mpg ..

with the K&N you should be getting better Gas milage since it lets the engine breath better. i get 22-23 MPG on the Highway

A chip or programmer will give you a little better mpg (as long as you stay off the gas).

Is your car a stick or auto? Is that 19mpg city driving?
For a V6 you should be getting alot better than that. Hell I drove my 05 GT to Kerrville last weekend driving 75-80 and got 24.9 mpg

If its an auto.. Make sure you baby the gas peddle.. if you can make it shift at 2k every pass... your milage will be around 23-24 city. Its mainly all your shifting habbits.. yes even in a automatic, Dont let it idle for more than a min in the same spot.. after that min.. you are losing fuel like crazy LOL. Btw... if its under 10k your still breaking in your engine... its not going to give you optimum gas milage untill your tranny and engine has broke in. If you have been romping on it id sugjest you stop... and start driving at 70 in 70's if thas what you do most.. if your in the shity city.. just baby it.. it will be better for your pocketbook in the long run :mick:

Also just an idea, but maybe you didn't reset ALL the things (you know mpg, miles to empty, gallons used, fuel economy, etc) when you filled up.
** I'm assuming the V6 has the same setup my GT does on what all to reset when you fill up.

19?.... thats great. My 05 GT gets avg 12.1. But I drive with my aircon full blast everywhere I go. Then again a Mustang is a muscle car, so dont expect great gas milage.

I got a '96 6-banger and get just about what you are. About 21/22 around town, 24/25ish highway. Not good but then again I have a little bit of a heavy foot off of stop lights and signs. My brother got 28 when he had to take it up to Kansas once.
My car was also running ******, was in need of a good tune up. HAven't checked since I had it tuned up.

I have a V6 with a K&N Aircharger, Magnaflow dual exhaust, Flashpaq, performance filters running all synthetic oil and I get around 19 in the city but I run my car really hard. I am always the first off the line at a red light! On the highway I get about 35mpg doing about 60mph. I usually run about 80mph and get around 28-30mpg!

Pretty impressive figures. My SVT Focus (high-strung 2.0l 4-banger, 6-speed) only gets around 21 city if I keep up with traffic, 25 city if I baby it (up to just over 30 lately with some of the hypermiling techniques I use), and a solid, repeatable 34+mpg on the highway - best tank of 36.601mpg.
My '67 Mustang on the other hand...well, I'm averaging around 13mpg right now, which is bad even for something of its vintage - my '68 with similar spec engine and rear end averaged 16mpg...
Anyway, here's what I do to maintain fuel economy:
-I keep a close eye on my throttle foot
-Short shift (in my SVT Focus, I shift at only about 1600rpm, the which keeps the next gear up just out of lugging territory; Mustang shifts at about 1100rpm)
-Look ahead to lights - if you see it's red, no sense wasting fuel to keep up your current speed. Coast to it.
-Round corners at higher speed - conserve momentum
-Try to use hills - gain speed down hills, scrub speed up them. Will drive other drivers nuts, but they don't pay to fill your tank.
-Pick a route that's shorter, has less hills, and/or fewer stop signs. Signals can be your friend if you learn to time them.
-Combine trips; a double whammy since you're leaving home only once and coming back once, plus it keeps your engine warm and efficient
-Switch to a clutch fan or electric fan if you don't already have one.
-Reduce weight any way you can
-Use a/c less
-Travel at 55-65mph on the freeway
-Keep tires properly inflated or even a couple PSI over
-Keep vehicle maintained and oil fresh
-If you have a '96 or later automobile (which you obviously do), a ScanGauge II or similar device can really help you hone your skills

I get 250 miles per tank highway and between 170-200 city. Sometimes a lot less.
The Supercharger really loves gas in boost.

i've got a '05 V6 w/exhaust and michael's right, just baby it. don't romp on it everywhere you go (like take it easy from redlights and such) and you should be gettin better than that...i can usually get at least 300 mi to a tank of gas. And on the highway set your cruise...it keeps you from playin with the gas pedal too much and helps gas mileage too.

On the hills, though, you can do a better job than the cruise control will at keeping up your gas mileage, but you have to have an instantaneous MPG readout to really be able to do it. On my drive home, there's a 6-mile stretch of road with small rolling hills. On cruise my Focus would do ~28mpg, but when I took over, I was able to get a solid 36-38mpg on that same stretch. It takes some practice though.

in my 05 GT (manual)...
mods: C&L and Tune...
I run Royal Purple with K&N filter...
On my weekly trip from Houston to Dallas I get 27.xx mpg doing 70 mph and when I go 80-90 mph I get 25 mpg.
Once I got 30.xx mpg doing 60 mph from Ft. Worth to Dallas.
