Paint scheme Help... and Ideas..

I am thinking of doing a paint scheme on my 1987 lx vert.

What I was thinking about doing is from the 2nd body line up would be jet black, to go with my 5 % tint and my top this would include all the trim pieces and the mirrors,
from the body line down I was going to do a black cherry pearl paint ,

with a center pin stripe to seperate the 2 colors, and clear coating over the pin stripe also..

any ideas or suggestions would be great..

ok. my take is this. on an LX it wouldnt look right. maybe look inot like a Harley type paint theme. use from the top of the fender/door/quarter oanels down one color and the top another.

that is basically the same idea i have as what is in the pic, jus different colors.. so you dont think it will look good ? I am trying to stay somewhat red, b.c the firewall and so forth is red...

i thought you were talkin bought from the trim panel in the middle of the body lines like the 87-91 GT's. THAT wouldnt look good, not on an LX. i think.

Why jet black and black cherry pearl? I think the colors are too close to the same

I am wanting to go with a jet black on top for sure, b.c my windows are 5% and my vert top is 5 %, I am wanting to have red somewhere in the paint scheme b.c My firewall is red, door jambs ect... whats your opinion on a scheme ??

Dont really have one. Not crazy about the scheme masshole posted, but the effort to do what you want will be a ton compared to the effect you will get. Id say do it like a color change. dont go bu what color the jams are now. My $.02

there is alot of different reds to go withthe black...pearls,candy,flipflop, they would all work...

Bright red on the bottom,Black on the top
and seperate with a silver or white 1 inch stripe.

Thats keeps your red as major,you get your black on top.

My 94 has the same basic paint scheme but uses Comp Orange on top,
Perf. white on bottom with a blue stripe seperating them.
