1993 GT 5-speed

Does any one know what type of fluid a t5 uses? my son towed dollied his car from colorado this weekend and removed the driveshaft, now we need to refill the tranny.

The previous owner of my car kept putting gear oil in the T5 and wondered why he kept having to have it rebuilt. I was a bit surprised myself when I learned the T5 took ATF, but I didnt make the same mistake he did :mick: I was smart enough to ask the builder

By the way DO NOT use synth dextron in any man 5 speed or you will be sorry

Back when I first got my 87 (before I knew much of anything about these cars.) I had lube express service my tranny.. yeah, they put regular trans fluid in it,, BOOM! bastards. that was tranny one. lol!

Thanks, Got some Dexron III and a vampire pump, now to go filler up...

I did a test a while back...it doesnt matter if the vehicle is level or not. level reads the same either way:mick:
