Ok Darren,

I put the driver side on this weekend since I was able to locate the damn door handle parts I needed.

two things. not sure if the bottom needs to be shimmed or not, and the crackling paint I told you about on the phone, well when I went to sand it, it was very pasty, almost like the paint never dried. What would cause that, and what's a good paint stripper to get to take that crap off.

If you cant adjust the bottom out, and the top in, then (with the glass out or all the way down) take a block or a rubber mallet, and put it in the bottom of the door between the door and the door jam and push in on the top. This will twist the door and help the alignment. The bottom looks to be in pretty far. you might have to twist it enough to bend the bottom edge of the door and have to do body work. Try getting it closer before you do this.

The doors came off a race car, so I'm thinking there was a little to much flex at one point.. I'll be working on the fenders this week and try to get them on to line the doors the rest of the way and see what happens, then I'll try that block of wood thing.

What about the paint stripper?

Aircraft stripper works well.
worry more about the door to qtr alignment. get that right, then wory about the door to fender...unless you know a way to adjust the qtr :lmao:
