A friend of mine who drives an 06 GT says he had his injectors cleaned by a dealership during an oil change, and he says the difference is amazing. The car has about 20k on it, and the user manual suggests this be done every 15k. I figured that was crap, but now I'm beginning to wonder. Has anyone else with an S197 had this done yet? If so, did you notice a difference?
Appreciate the responses!

On a car with 20k I honestly don't see it being worth it...
But, to give you some more insight, it doesn't lean the injectors, it's a chemical they out into the comustion chamber that cleans the carbon. If you do decide to do it, keep in mind that all the carbon that just got cleaned out is now on your spark plugs, they will also need to be changed.

I have done this several times. I always notice a major difference. The more miles the bigger the difference.

Interesting mix of experiences. Maybe my friend is just imagining the car is faster now, maybe it really is faster. I think my car runs a little faster after an oil change. Is that imagination? Probably. After driving a car for a while, any car, it just seems slower and lacks the initial thrill of the first drive. So, any excuse to think it is faster, even after a mere oil change or injector cleaning, is what we're after... after all. I guess sex and cars do have something in common; after a while the thrill is all in your head.

I do it from time to time using the fuel addative. Never notice a difference, but it seems to be a good preventive measure

I have never done it to mine. At least not yet that is.

I have yet to do it to our stang, but 20k does seem a bit early for it.
