I've been noticing a slight rattle in the 02 GT under mild acceleration. It has that typical "valve noise" sound to it that you might associate with an older engine being slightly out of time.
I'm good with older stuff, but haven't done much with newer ones.....so where should I start looking for this? Is it likely to be a lifter issue (doesn't tap like a lifter)? Timing isn't adjustable, right?
Car only has 61k on it...
any suggestions?

Bad Gas or if you have a chip or tune the timming is too high.

Go to at least mid grade I have got a couple of tanks of mid from the Texaco at 31 and greenbrier in my wifes toyota whitch is suposed to run 87 and it knocks pretty bad on mild exceleration. stay with exxon\chevron.
Best price in town is the station by citizens bank on 64 west.

I had a rattle once as well .. turned out to be blown/broken motor mounts ...

hmmm....i don't think it's the mounts, but I will check them out....found out after talking to the wife today that she's got a couple of tanks from the little convenience store down the road....I think their tanks are dirty. We filled it up at Exxon in B'boro Thursday night and it's doing fine now. No noise today.....gonna give her some premium and cleaner/additive for the meet tomorrow...
Thanks for the info all!!
