Do you have a distributer if so it would be the centrifical advance. The vacumn advance could make it change less but would not account for no change at all.

You have a spare spout connector you can change it out with if you have already replaced the other parts? I know it sounds strange but with the SVO I had a bad plug for the spout connector.

well here is the real crazy thing.i think i might have a bigger problem than i know.i can disconect the ACT, coolant temp sensor, idle air control and the engine will run with no change. does this sound like i have a problem with my wiring harness?

coolant temp sensor wont really make it runn different.. the IAC should though.. did you change out the puter yet?

hmmm.. that is odd.. is it still the stumbling problem that you're trying to figure out? or a new problem??

It's going out on friday (payday) so you should have it next week sometime.

the stumbling problem

Stumbling is different from the timing advancing.( unless you have a really freaky knock sensor that is pulling all the timing out of it) How old is the IAC piece? Are you sure your fuel pressure regulator is good? When you say stumbling? Is it like a miss, loading up on fuel, or what exactly?

Go Chris, you jumped right in here running man.:mick:

Hugo I might have some answers for ya but I'm gonna need you to check a few things for me first. I have to run out right now, PM me your number so we can walk through this, or I can PM you mine when I get back. I'm gonna need to know what computer your using first off. Then we'll walk through the rest of it.

IAC is about a week old, when i say stumbling i meen like its not getting any fuel pressure but my gage does not drop when it acts up. what weird it acts up for about 2 min then it goes away till i turn the car off and start it again. fuel pressure should be working since its letting me adjust it i would think.

1. Well is it only doing it on startup?
2.As in tries to crank but when it finally does it spits and putters for two minutes ( 2a. and if thats the case do you have to give it fuel to get it to start?)?
3.Or when you go to take off? was it a stick or an auto?
4. If you disconnect the coolant temp sensor ( ECT if I am thinking right, maybe wrong) does the car start up better--just the ECT.
5. The IAC should change the rpms tried wiggling the wires with it plugged in to see if it is getting a connection or not?

Have you checked voltages and resistances on those sensors you mentioned in your post?

ive replaced all my sensors so they are all new. its a 5 speed and it acts up after it starts up, it start with no problem at all it just when i start to get going.

Does it have a tps if so it needs to be set for a particular voltage at idle mine sets a .6 volts but yours may be diff.

For the FB's I think it is .98 volts for optimum. IS yours a MAF converted car? How much FP are you running for a base setting? N/A right?

my TPS is set at .98v and yes its MAF and running 38# in fuel pressure

Sorry man. Things got crazy this weekend. Let me know if you got anything figured out.

This may be redundant but If you have MAF I have seen a lot of these type of problems fixed by spraying it (the little sensor in the middle)
with brake cleaner. If you have a K@N the oil gets on it and causes strange problems usually right after the filter is cleaned and reoiled.
