So I'm about to hit 50K miles on my G6 and my tires were looking like they had seen all 50K plus some. The original tires had a 60,000 mile warranty, but with winter coming, I decided to make the purchase. You would think that because it is a G6 the tires wouldn't be expensive, guess again. Because I bought the GT version with the 17" wheels, the car came with performance rated tires. Yeah Me!

So I bought Goodyear Eagle Responsedge Tires. I have an appointment to have them put on next week. Can't wait to see how cool my car will look with new tires.

I'm all exicted about it - weird I know, but now I know I can feel safe going fast on the new tires instead of worrying about a blow out. :mick:

Oh yeah - I don't speed, I merely go the speed limit.:snicker:

the price might be because its a odd sized tire. im guessing a 225/50/17?? thats not something normally on the shelf at most tire distributor locations. be thankful you didnt buy the GTP.

but congrats on the buy :mick:

I wish I had bought the GTP though - but yeah odd size tires - you were right on about the 225/50/17. I'm replacing the Continental tires that came with the vehicle. I liked the features this tire had to offer. It is rated to 149 mph, not that I ever go that fast in mah G6. I don't think the speedometer goes that high on the car.

the GTP's tire i belive is an 18, and probally a 235/45 which is another odd size. or its a 245/45 which aint as odd. but no less.... still expensive.
well as long as your comfortable with your purchase thats all that matters. we dont need to hear any stories of you doing 120 off and the off-ramp

I know my car isn't a super fast car, so I don't bother speeding in it. I took it to the drag strip for midnight madness after I first bought it. I was racing against Coker's wife Raven in their blazer. It was a blast, I was slow, but it was a blast. I think I did 17's or 18's in the quarter mile. Woo hoo?

I do however like the way it handles around corners and such (upgraded suspension for the GT version). That is what sold me whenI bought the car.. Besides, I like to put Mick in the backseat and listen to him whine about my driving skills.

its to bad you didnt live out here. i just talked to my friend at TFT and he could have gotten you (4) 225/50/17's for as cheap as $109/per. thats mounted and everything. there only a 40k tire tho. they also had a blow out on DLP Winter sport M3 DSST for $165 each. but thats more of a "winter" tire.

how much did you pay for yours??
