does anyone know if it is possible to use a 'married' predator on another vehicle to manipulate basic parameters such as engine speed at idle??

My best guess would be no, but then again, I don't know much about tuners.

from what i know, and this is based of the superchips power pack only, as long as its for the same type of vehicle it should work. a tuner is set to work on a specific vehicle, ie. a 99-04 GT, it should work on anyone's 99-04 GT. but i dont know anybody thats used a predator tuner before. i dont know if they only do pre specific cars before hand or if its like the power pack from superchips. if it is the same, it should work. and if not, id look into gettin one from superchips. but you should call predator tech support to find out personally though :mick:

yeah, I was looking to adjust my idle speed using a buddy's predator but he has an 03 Cobra and I'm guessing that the PCM's in Cobras are different than GTs anyway, so I more than likely will be unable to use his regardless...oh well! - thanks anyway!

yea theres a big difference in the tuners for the Cobra's and GT's. theres no way it would work.

you should look into getting one for yours though, you can unleash alot power with them, but it hinders on how many mods you have done already because them tuner packs are ment to tune "stock" cars. if your's if heavily modified.... then the only real use it to tune for rear gear/speedo, wheels and tires and little things like that. you can get a superchips one for around $400-500.

yeah, I used to have a predator but Murillo ended up burning a chip in place of the predator and I later sold the one I had...There is probably no longer any benefit to having one now given all that I have done to my car.

If the tuner is married to one vehicle you will by no means have any control on an other vehicle OTHER than diagnostics. Basically...you upload a program into one vehicle. Once that program "tune" is in the car the tuner is EMPTY. Diagnostics doesnt download into a vehicle and is part of the Diablos program itself.-Shane

^^^What he said^^^

Other than diagnostics, you absolutely CANNOT do anything else.

If you are looking for a Predator or an SCT tuner, we carry them.

this was pretty much my assumption...I only wanted to adjust my idle and would have no other need for the predator - any further upgrades would undoubtedly require a retune and I would not attempt doing so myself so I might as well save myself the 400 for when that will be necessary!

the only reason why I even brought this up is because someone else mentioned doing this on svtperformance.com

It's a really good question. Look at it from the sellers point of view though..if it were possible to use one tuner to do many cars..where's the money in that? I once paid $325 for a Diablo Predator that was empty. I was deployed and couldnt do much about. I tried to use Mypay as well Ebay to fight it but I was the one that was the crook in it all. REALLY MAD  If you talk to tuners you can usually get them for $375 with a custom tune. Just be careful if you buy a used one and I reccomend the SCT2 over the Diablo-Shane
