I'm looking in to getting a JLT CAI for my '05, but I have some questions about the tuner and tunes.

My car is basically stock, so do I really need custom tunes for now or will the pre-programmed tunes from SCT or Diablo be enough to handle the increase in air?

My mods are listed in my sig, thanks for any help :D The Superchips tuner I have is outdated, so I didn't think it could handle the addition of a CAI. It's not update able.

I have the JLT installed on my 05, with the tunes supplied with the SCT.
My stang dyno'd very well using the 93 octane tune. You will love the difference :woot:

On the 05+ you need to get a programmer to do any kind of tune on it. Even if you want to have a custom tune from Murillo's you still need to get a programmer. SCT or Diablo are the top brands to go with and the have better warranties. BTW for the mods you have you don't have to tune it. But it will be worth the $ if you do tune it.

Just thought I'd share this. There is a New True Cold Air System that will be coming on the market by the end of Nov. If theories prove to be what is claimed it is going to make all others obsolete. This unit will Not Require a Re-tune. However it is recommended to do so for maximum performance and milage. Stay Tuned. [no pun intended] :mick: :wowspring :rankf-sra BTW the site is at www.xgtdesigns.com

Airaid and C&L both are currently offering units that have removable restrictors, that way you can purchase the CAI and un-cork it when you get a tuner :mick:

Hey guys I have an 06 mustang GT. I just recently bought a used sct xcal2 from another member. He unmarried it from his car so any car can use it. Its part number 9400. Will it be able to work on my car after I get a new custom tuner for it with my calibration code? I heard theres two different xcal2's out and its for different years? Thanks for your help.

Anyone used the SCT live wire? Trying to decide to get the JLT with the x2 or step up to the live wire

Install was a breeze man, the whole thing including the CAI took less than 30 minutes. The SCT is very easy to use, just follow the on screen directions and answer the questions to suit your needs. Don't forget to select the option for the JLT :mick:
