ran a code scanner on my car and came out with code 31,85,95. not worried about the 85 code since i dont have my purge canister. what gets me is code 95.
95 X X Fuel pump secondary circuit failure. The EEC senses infinite resistance to ground from the fuel pump on the Fuel Pump Monitor circuit.
this is the explanition i get for code 95 where should i start looking to fix this problem? any help is well welcomed.
thank you

Does it run, the code is saying that the motor in your fuel pump is bad and shows no conection. Is your pump set up in the normal stock configuration or have you added a new power supply to it some how.

it runs, it just started to do this. it will stumble for a bit then it goes away then it will come back later.

It may be the pump sometimes they will come and go can you check fuel pressure while it is stumbling.

fuel pressure stays around 40# during driving speed while its doing it. do you think my fuel pump might be going out?

It could also be a intermitant connection to the pump on the power line

If your pressure gauge reacts slowly it might not show the drop. A dirty fuel filter will cause stumbling also

Well it seems that the computer thinks the pump is bad, however I have seen misleading codes plenty of times but that one seems pretty solid mabe someone that is more knowlageable on the fox ecc will chime in. If you clear it will it stay off until the motor stumbles.

i dont have a check engine light when ever my car acts up i run codes on it. i might just have to drop the tank and check the connections on top of my fuel pump i guess.

drop the tank and check all the wires, there might be a pinch and it could be causing it to short in a way..

I'm with joey on this one. If that's not the cause I would guess a bad pump.

This is a code showing that you have high resistance to the pump motor. This is a common problem with early intank fuel pumps. The pump may be good but the pigtail wires maybe going bad. This is why they recommend to change the pigtail when you put in a new pump.

what do you meen the pigtail? a friend of mine told me to check the ground wire to the injector harness so ill be checking that first before i drop tank.

the plug and harness that the pump connects to.

you do need to check that one but the one I'm talking about is the wires & pigtail that runs from the top of the fuel pump assembly to the pump it self. in side the tank. For this you would need to drop the tank and pull out the whole assembly.

This would be the time to upgrade the fuel pump to a high output unit :gt4her:

Did you just change the pump or the whole assembly?

just the pump, pump is cheaper the whole ass. cost more than the pump alone.
