I recently bought a 93 Chevy pickup, and it has the familiar paint peeled off spotted look......
I've been interested in trying out the Rustoleum paint theory, and figured it would make a good candidate....
My question is this....the guy I bought it from mentioned that he had another one that Chevy paid to have repaired, and he said they had to strip it all the way to metal and use a different primer.....will I have to do that on this one, or can I just sand off the peeling paint and keep the primer?

you wont be able to sand off just the paint and leave all the primer. I would strip it to the metal and re prime and paint. But not with rustoleum. it wont match

I had planned to reprime before painting, just didn't know if I would have to completely sand off all the old primer to keep the peeling problem from coming back......
I'll be painting the whole thing, so why wouldn't it match? It's a farm truck, besides, so I'm not that concerned about it.....not like I'm painting a 'Stang..... :lmao1: I've just read alot about people painting vehicles with Rustoleum with a small firm roller, and figured I'd give it a try, since I have all the stuff anyway.....
Thanks for the info!!
