The supercharged Harley-Davidson F-150 is back with even more punch than before. With help from a dealer installed Saleen supercharger system, the the 450 horsepower Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson Super Crew 4x2 hits the road this summer.
Born from tremendous customer reaction to the F-150 performance truck concept that was on display at the November 2006 SEMA show, the supercharged F-150 Harley-Davidson packs the extra power punch that Ford truck enthusiasts have been demanding since the Lightning stopped rolling of the line some time ago. The last supercharged Harley Davidson packed 360-380 hp and has been sorely missed since it disappeared in 2004.
The new supercharged F-150 Harley Davidson is available in ebony black or dark amethyst with plenty of gleaming chrome, 22-inch oversized wheels and tires and a custom scalloped stripe that runs along the beltline that creates a glued-to-the-ground appearance. “Harley-Davidson script runs along the bedside in three-dimensional chrome letters. Blacked-out headlamps and a unique chrome billet grille give it a distinctive, bold front-end.
The Saleen twin-screw supercharger option is available through Ford dealers and is installed there. Just like the system Saleen offers on their own F-150’s, the system features a dual stage water-to-air intercooler. An upgraded exhaust system is included as well. An optional Saleen style center mounted gauge pod is also available that measures boost and air charge temperature.
The cost of the option is $6500 MSRP. Base F-150 Harley-Davidson pricing starts at $37,210 MSRP including $925 destination and delivery. This puts a base supercharged Harley-Davidson pickup at just under $45,000. The truck certainly has the look and now has the power to answer the call of performance. Will it satisfy the longing SVT fans and owners who have been looking for another Lightning? We’ll see.
