In high school I switched out my two barrel carb on my 1967 289 and put in a holley 4 barrel. I do regret that. the 4 barrel runs too rich. I think it is time to rebuild the carb but I am having trouble identifying it. The numbers I grabbed from the front and top don't match anything at holley.com. any tips, from anyone. Someone told me to get more restrictive jets for it. Is that good advice?

Best bet is to call the Holly tech line and give the numbers on the carb and they will cross ref the model # to get you a rebuild kit for it. As far a leaning it out going to smaller jets will help a little. But the best way is if the carb has the vacuum sec. they sell stronger springs to open the sec. That would help alot more. If you have a manual sec then that's too much carb for that motor.
