the typhoon is almost like the Edlebrock RPM so you check out some Edlebrock heads. but you can with what you want, just try to match you set up with the right combo

You also might want to get the typhoon lower cleaned up a little, from what I hear there is alot of cating slag in the runners.. not sure if they fixed it with newer stuff though..

You can get any combo to work, it's just a matter of how well it works.. you want to use all of what the stuff can put out.. if the typhoon intake will let in enough air to make the camn and heads work then stick with it. It should since it's the exact design of the EB..

I've seen stick cars run 11's on motor with a similar combo to what I have, only EFI.. E-cam, ported gt-40p heads, and an EB intake, ran something like 11.2 in a 5spd car. I have the same cam and heads, just with a carb, so I should be somewhere around there also.

sounds good, i was wanting to go with an e cam because it will work with my aod till i make it 5 speed, so typhoon and e cam, just have to decide on heads, and im gonna probably have my engine bored to a 306

Why the e-cam? They are good cams, but outdated IMO. You could get a more modern grind for about the same price(TF stage 1). Or even look into a custom grind. As far as heads you cant go wrong with AFR 165's, however they are pricy and leave you kinda limited on room to grow. If you are planning on boost look into some canfields or twisted wedges. also the new RHS heads have awesome flow numbers. And definately go with the bigger CC size if you are thinking about boost.

The letter cams are just as good as any other similar cams.. old? yes, but they work great. The best cam to get is a custom grind, but with that you'll pay an arm and a leg.. possibly two legs.

My custom cost me 380.00 shipped so they are on the pricey side.

Nice guy. I got the billet steel one, but you can get the SADI Iron core for a little less.

I was looking into them, not that I'm changing cams anytime soon, but just doing research for the future.

Old yes, outdated hell no. The E-cam is still proven to be one of the best street cams on the market. Just because something new comes out doesn't always mean its been improved. An E-cam combined with a set of AFR 165's and an Edelbrock Performer intake will get you onto the 12's in a 5spd car with very little effort. Take that same cam, using 1.7 cobra roller rocker and a set of the AFR 185's and a performer RPM intake and you'll seee 11's, add a small shot and you will see 10's if you have the supporting mods to go that fast.

i always vote edelbrock on these types of questions. its proven, its a fair price and there's always a product for what you're trying to do. just my opinion

my 306 with edelbrock performer heads and intakes with an ecam made 295/332 in about 100*
