changing out gears

ok i want to change out my gears just for the experience i have the gears ready so how would i go about changing them any help would be great

How inclined are you? it's not your average do it yourselfers job.. you need a press, something to measure back lash ( I forgot what it's called) and AIR tools..

i have a shop press and air tools but not sure about the back lash tool

No prob. Thats the site I used to install my 4.10's. I was a little ghetto in my install in that I bought a set of used gears that still had the pinion bearing pressed on. I reused all of the shims in the order they came off and sealed it up. Drives fine without a howl or anything else.
