I have been looking at several different Spring choices for the Bulldog.
Obviously I drag race, but not as often as I would like to ....
I do have a few questions for those of who may know LOTS about the suspension.
1st off, what I want is to lower the car about 3/4", maybe as much as 1". I do not want to interfere with the weight distribution, which I need for the drag racing.
I have been looking at the Eibach Kit (regular one i think), Steeda Sport Suspension and the Steeda Drag Pack. I have also heard that the Mach 1 and the Bullitt's came with different springs than the GT did ... I this true ??? I was told that the Mach 1 and/or Bullitt woud be what I was looking for ...
1 friend has the Eibach regular kit that he is going to sell me for $100
Another friend has the Steeda Sport springs (which he used on his 700 HP GT) that he is going to sell me for $125 ....
I dont know too much about suspension and I am a little confused about it ...
I do know that I am going to go with 50/50 shocks in the rear and the 70/30 in the front ... i believe that this will also help with weight distribution as well
Thoughts, Comments, Advice ...
Thanks Guys ...

The Bullit and Mach 1 springs are about 3/4 of an inch shorter then the GT springs. i also drag race so I know what your looking for. It's hard to find a balance between daily drive ability, stance and a car that can launch at the track. my current set up is stock GT shocks and struts with Ford Racing C-springs, works decently for every thing but still a little stiff for the drag strip. I'm switching to fully adjustable tokico struts up front and 4 cyl fox body front springs, i'll keep the c-springs in the rear along with the stock gt shocks. You always have the option to go with the Eibach Drag pak, I think it lowers the car just a little bit, still handles decent on the street and works great at the track. Hope this all helps you out Brian.

H&R are great, but not for what he wants..
Go with the steeda sport springs.. Get lakewood 70/30 struts, and get adjustable rear shocks.. You do not want to go to low, or you're going to screw yourself, and if you REALLY want to get a fully adjustable set up go with coil overs, you can adjust the ride height and with adjustable struts and shocks, you can tune it better. but it all depends on budget.
When you go to the track, disconnect the front sway bar, and zip tie it out of the way, that will help with weight distribution.

Or do like me and just remove it all together :mick: helps with wieght reduction and wieght transfer.

i would say go with bullitt mach springs with no isolators.. its enough drop to notice and the weight transfer is great. i have not had a front sway bar in a while launches way bettter that way.

This will work too if your more geared towards the street.
You rgonna have to play with the suspension alot to figure out what works for you. It took me years to find a combination that really worked in my street car. When I had my race car/street cra that only saw the street a couple times a month I went to a fully tubular/adjustable race set-up with spherical bushing and coil-overs all the way around. That isn't practical on a daily driven street car, your constantly checking nuts and bolts for tihtness and adjusting from one extreme to the other. I say use the bullit/mach rear springs and use 4 cyl fox front springs and no sway bar along with some adjutable front struts.

So where do I find these Mach 1 / Bullitt Stock Springs ????? I am wanting to keep it street/strip (weekends) due to wife driving it to work occasionally.
These sound like what I am really looking for and will benefit me the most for my application .... I am also looking at the drag kits from Steeda and Eibach, along with some 70/30 Front Shocks and 50/50 in the rear or maybe adjustable's in the rear ....
the 70/30 will definitely give me the weight transfer i am lookin for as it will raise that front end and shift all the weight to the back during the 1st 60 -100 foot or so .. then the car will come down and sink like it is supposed to ...
At least that is the research that I have found and studied thus far ... :):)
Keep em coming ...... Ya'll are givin me some good idears ....

The Mach 1 and Bullitt springs are the same as the C-springs but don't have the progressive rate in the back. You want the progressive rate springs for the back that way when you floor it at the track the back will sink putting more lb's to your rear wheels.

mach/Bullit spring are only 3/4 inch drop, while the c-springs are 1 1/4-1 1/2 inch drop.

So will I have to worry about tire rub on the fenders when I am running my slicks if I go with the C Springs with the 1 1/4" - 1 1/2" drop???? I am running 15x8" Weld Pro Stars with 15" x 10 1/2" x 26" Tires

you might have an issue.. might have to get the MM weight jacker lowers to raise the rear up a little.

All MM stuff is expensive..
I would do the springs and then test out the slicks first, if they rub then spend the money on the ctrl arms.

Brian, if your running a 26" tire in the rear you will have no clearance issuse with the c-springs. My rear tires at 28" tall and all I had to do was massage the inner lip to clear with the c-springs.
