Hey Yall,
So im driving around in the Saleen a couple weeks ago and i start hearing a constant squeaking from one of my wheels, but if i press the brake down or pull the e brake just a little bit while im rolling it stops. Come to find out, my left rear caliper is stuck closed, and it ground the pad completely down, now the pad is digging grooves into the rotor, i stopped driving it until i can fix, it. Now im looking for a good deal on some rotors, and calipers, the ones i have now are brembo rotors, and if i could find one rotor it would be better, but does anyone have any suggestions? i dont want to spend an arm and a leg right now so im trying to keep the price as low as possible. Im considering if i should just go with stock GT rotors and calipers, since I have Cobra brakes on the front. what would yall do???

I would try to work the caliper free and just do a simple rear brake job. Sounds like all you need is a rotor and new pads for that one side.

:werd: is the rotor able to be turned ???? take it to any ma&pa Parts Store and they can prolly turn it for ya .... Or if you are in San Antonio, go by and see Larry at Pep Boys ...

what kind of rear calipers do you have? I assume stock gt ones correct? just go to napa(or whatever part store) and get a new caliper, and if the rotor can be turned, turn it... it's the rear so they don't work as hard as the fronts do anyway so warpage shouldn't be much of a problem.

If the caliper is sticking it's better to replace the two rear calipers. Also do a brake fluid flush. most of the time calipers stick b/c of contamiation in the fluid.

well, i cant get them turned, their drilled and slotted brembo rotors. do you think i should just go with stock GT rotors and calipers? ive been looking on ebay and theres quite a few rotors that are drilled and slotted that are good prices, but i dont recognize the brands. heres some of the links, would you get any of these?

being it's on the rear, I would go with them.

And more then likely you have stock gt calipers, which shouldn't be that much.

Is it ok to replace the rotors and calipers on just one side?

i'd do as Larry suggested and replace both rear calipers, and i know at pepboys they sell drilled/slotted rotors also....(i have them on all 4 corners of my car) and they work jus fine....so what i'd do is call Larry..get a set of rear calipers and the drilled/slotted rotors so it looks the same as the front and the pads also....then you should flush the system with new fluid and it should all work jus fine...
