is it worth the money to spend on a sct chip for my 2000gt with only a few mods like cai, shorty headers, x-pipe, 21/2 exhaust, 4.10 gears, and im going to buy a throttle body i need some advice

I would say yes. I would get a SCT tuner rather than a chip.
The headers can make a big difference on your air/fuel ratio. My friend added a SCT tuner from Dallas Mustang and he had less than you stated and it really helped out.

what's the price diff? A tuner is about 325.....I would recommend putting back what you have now and saving till you can get the tuner....it'll do a lot more for you, and you can adjust it...

You can sometimes get a used tuner for around 200-250 if you look hard enough. Definitely get a tuner vs. a chip.

You can get SCT Xcal2's all day long for 379...I was searching the other day and found one on sale for 329. You just have to look around.
And like 98GT said, you can find used ones for 200-250 when people make big upgrades and go beyond the handhelds....

I'd just save up a little more money and get the SCT.
