So, if it takes power to make power, you dont lose power in a supercharger?
as opposed to the turbocharger that works off of exhaust? which is better? and why?

turbo is more efficient since it is not belt driven but depending on the size of the turbo my take a sec to build boost. turbos also tend to be more expensive do to the amount of fabrication that goes into them.

As mentioned the Turbo is a better choice due to the fact it doesnt take power to make power. In my opinion if you have a 3.8 you will be wasting time and money. A good platform is crucial. A lesson I learned the hardway even with a Mustang GT that made 400rwhp but took a fortune to get there. Your best bet is to save or what not and get a 4valve regardless of what year. Or..drop one in your car and then boost it. Not sure of your plans so maybe you can add more-Shane

Eventually i will get a GT, but for now i have a 3.8. I pretty much only want for the engine to be better than the rest of the V-6. i dont want it to be slow. or average. just faster than the other ones.

I can understand that man. What I am saying is that for the price to do that in a 3.8 you could have bought a GT and bolt ons that might be around the same HP or close. Even better yet, possibly a 4v. I'd save the money and do a better platform as soon as you could afford it. I felt like I wasted my time and money on a GT so for me to say that about a 3.8 is pretty easy. Whats your rate? MN1(SW) here stationed in Ingleside on a Minehunter-Shane

If you are stuck with the 3.8 Platform, I would just Supercharge it, which will get you into the low 13's high 12's .. and that is very respectable for a V-6

Go to velocity mustangs website. (VMS) they have a lot of options for a V6. They have a V6 that runs in the 10's. I belive they have premade kits for both the blower and the turbo for the sixers. :shane:

Diddo...That is my future plan for my six when I decide if I want to still have it or not in the future.

There's also a certain point where you're in too deep and you've invested too much to turn back. I for one don't plan on F.I. anytime soon unless I got a built engine [the theory is said that the v6's can hold more boost than the GT's]. For now, I'm doing an SSM Powerpak Stage 2+ going full N/A so I got somewhere to go in the future. Below are reliable sources for the TMA Turbo Kit, and also the Procharger 11psi kit from Justin. Both kits make some pretty good #'s.
