I have a 88 GT Vert 5.0 & thinking about adding a Mass Air Flow Setup ?
It will be professionly done.
My question is this a good idea for my car for performance ?
Just like to hear pros & cons.
I am mostly stock as of now, except for FLowmaster setup & pulley upgrade.
would be needed if your ganna be modding your car ... if your running efi

Well, I have headers on as of now & later will put in my 373 gears.
I already have the gears,so sometime this summer they will be installed.
Is maf the route to go as of now for my car, or is this another setup that would be more suitable ?
The setup will be BBK.
well if u are running a speed density(think i spelled it right) u can only get like a 5-15% change in air flow so af far as air in and out only get that 15% max ... so with MAF set up more air in more fuel more power ... or so i have been told i am getting ready to rewire my car and go with maf set up till i go with the turbo setup

Thanks for the inof, could you tell me just what speed density is exactly.
I want to be somewhat knowledgeable when I go to the shop.

Check out this site, http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/electronic_fuel_injection/ I asked the same question somewhere else and got this link. Tells you what you want to know. What I get out of it is that Speed Density is like a saftey feature for your engine, so you can't only beat the hell out of it...so much.

MAF is the optimal for making upgrades to you engine.. you can keep your speed density, but it takes alot more skill to tune around it.
