If you have never gotten a new windshield, please read. When you get a new one know how it goes on. directions at bottom, in case you dont know.

I was passing a car and to pass it i had to get behind an F-350, and it kicked up a rock, and sent it to the bottom of my windshield. the crack stopped at the middle of my windshield. no way was i driving my car with a crack up my window, so that weekend i got a new one. The guy that did it broke my f-ing Cowl, and its taken them about three weeks...so far, to get me my new one.
He put the panels on THEN the Cowl...crack! crack! crack! so if you guys or gals need to replace your windshield watch them! or they may break it, and believe me... it looks like crap. he broke it in five pieces, the only thing holdin it together is the weather strip.

1. Open door, remove rubber ****
2. remove 5 or 6 "star" screws (you need a 20 star)
3. remove 3 phillips screws
4. remove bolt at bottom of panel above window.
5. pull down slightly on top of panel above window.
6. pull toward windshield the rest of the panel... and its off(be careful,
because the prongs are easily broken.) repeat for other side.

7. remove windshield wipers (press clip in and pull up)
8. Cowl pops up has about 4 clips that hold it in. fragile, be careful.

Goes back in the reverse order.

Good call. :mick:

...and, be sure to double check the windshield for light scratches. One of our fellow members went through about 5 windshields before the came up with one that didn't have a scratch on it.

What he said!

Here in San Antonio, it seems about every other car has a busted windshield...

Josie's right...

I see drivers going down the freeways with HUGE splinter cracks across their whole field of vision. That is sooo not safe.
Is it a Texas thing to allow people to drive with that??? In NJ your ass would be pulled over in a heart beat and you would be given a HUGE fine.
