I went to a Muffler Clininc today, and the guy there said that it would cost me $500, he said he would use an H pipe. Is having an H-pipe on a V6 good? I thought i saw someone say that H-pipe is not needed. And, is 500 dollars a good deal? he said he would use nothing but brand name parts, and he would do it right. So, Help?

Note: i have 97,000 miles on my car.

$500 is way out of line. I stated on the other board that I don't have an H pipe. It is not necessary to equilize the pressure on a V6. BUT...opinions vary on this. I paid $350 to cut the Y pipe, install two new 2 1/4 pipes and two FlowMaster 2 chamber mufflers, and chrome tips.

What does "brand name parts" mean??
Kia is brand name but does not compare to Ferrari, which is also brand name.
Even "cheap" muffllers have a "brand" name.

Find out the "brand" of mufflers.

i paid close to 1k for mine but thats cause i bought a X pipe with high flow cats from pypes and borla cat back system so the high cost is mostly from the shipping and tte Borla
