I have a '66 Mustang coupe that I've converted to EFI. I need to find someone in San Antonio / Austin that will help me test my A9L computer by putting it in your car to try and start it up. I need to verify that this computer is working, as it is right now my injectors do not fire, and I do have 12v going to the red power wires on each injector. The noid light indicates that they are not firing, and the only thing I can come up with is the computer is shot. I bought the computer on ebay about 1.5 years ago, and didn't know if it was working or not.

If anyone can help me out with this, please let me know - I'd like to be 100% sure it's the computer before I go and buy another used one.

Thank you!

sounds to me like your first guess is correct...seems like the computer is shot....

I was hoping that the computer was okay - but after all the trouble shooting and the re-checking of the wiring, I kinda hope that this is it. Is there a sure-shot way of testing the ECU besides plugging it into someone else's car?

Here are the codes I get, and after replacing the MAP sensor and resetting the ECU, I get the same exact codes...

(21) ECT (Engine Coolant Temp) out of range. Coolant is less than 50degF for KOEO

(22) MAP (vacuum) or BARO signal out of range - MAP

(24) ACT (Air Charge Temperature)/IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor voltage out of range. Suspect ACT sensor and harness.

(81) TAD or AM-2 (Thermactor Air Diverter)/ Secondary Air Injection Bypass (AIRB) solenoid circuit failure

(82) TAB or AM-1 (Thermactor Air Bypass)/ Secondary Air Injection Diverter (AIRD) solenoid circuit failure

(85) CANP (Canister Purge) solenoid circuit failure

(84) EVR (EGR Vacuum Regulator) solenoid circuit failure

(95) Fuel Pump Monitor circuit problems, processor to pump motor ground.

There was the 6-9 second pause followed by the separator code # repeated twice.

(15) No Keep Alive Memory power to PCM pin 1 or bad PCM (Memory Test Failure)

-------------

I can hear the fuel pump prime, so I know it's working. The only two I'm worried about is code 22 and the separator code 15. Everything else is emissions that I don't need.

btw, thanks for the quick reply - that was extremely fast!
