I'll give 10,000 points to the 1st to who ever guesses right. Hint, it's neighbor friend. So guess low. Edit. Bulldog guessed it. :mick:
Just got it today. After about 45 minutes of metal working, its ready for some shrinking and then the filler work. Piece of cake. Should be done in 3 days I love the quick stuff. :pianodan

Not 600 either. Didn't know you were an estimator. Good ones can make a shop. Bad ones can....well, I'll be nice  Im sure you know the supliment routine. Man I hated that crap. Why not just take a real good look at it from the start. Do a good tear down and go over the whole repair. Small shit will get over looked, but not something like a bent core support. I find it nearly inpossible to do a good estimate without doing a tear down of some sort, most of the time. On harder hits than this anyway

Lets see ..

$60 for a Pint of Paint

$60 for some Clear

Labor for painting at $50/hr, $150

Labor for teardown, reassembly and prepping @ $50/hr, $250

Total Regular Cost = $520

Price for a friend = $350

I love it when someone does that on the show. You can see the 1st bidder just bitting thier lip in an effort not to choke the crap outta the guy.

I thought about raising the price by $5 to make it harder to guess. :rotfl:
350 is a pretty round #. so, it wasnt 351 or 349 and Brian is from 62000+ points to 72000+ :mick:

I figured that you would take a hit on the labor side of it ... but I knew that you would charge cost for the paint/clear and compounds ... $170 dont hurt that bad, considering you still walk away with about $150 - 200 in your pocket for an "easy" job...

Bulldog Stang
02-17-2007, 10:12 PM
labor for teardown AND reassembly was $250

I'll fix it above ..

So if I come to work for you and become your estimator, would I get to keep the extra $170 ???? LMAO!!!!

Actually the base and clear both will only be about $60, maye $80. I'll get a pint of base and probably have 1/2 leftover. It's the time it takes to do it. I'll spend alot of time watching things cure...kinda like watching grass grow

Teardown and assembly is merely losening the bumper cover and taking out the tail light. I'll do that for .5 hours lol
I got 4-5 hours filler work to do yet, and watch primer cure for 3 hours
And I dont charge 50 an hour. Insurance dont even pay that much.
As I said, lucky guess. :P :lmao:

hahaha ... well i was figuring about what I would charge to a friend if I was in that business .... Labor is always the most expensive part of any job when it comes to painting ... so i knew that is where you would take your hit ... and I guess i can admit it ... i was kinda lucky ... :mick:
