Starting prob

when i start my car in the morning.... it being in the 20's and lower...... it starts no prob but then revs real high and the cel blinks 3 times and blinks that only once. it will idle high, seems high to me being at 2300 to 2500 rpm, for about 2 to 3 min. then it will go down and almost die. picks up and stays around 1100 rpm. when i take off it hesitates. but when it gets warm... seems to be ok. what you guys think? no mods on the car that i know of. everything is stock.

Throttle Positioning Sensor, Fuel Filter, Spark Plugs, wires, MAF Sensor, try the simple stuff, it might be as simple as cleaning something with some brake parts cleaner

Like Bull said. Best thing is to clean the MAS and EGR passage that should take the problem away.

i want to trick the comp that its out so that i dont have to get a tune right now. abyone know what i am talking about and can help me out with that?

When was the last time your car had a tune up? Might want to get plugs, cap rotor. see if that does any help. It cant hurt to change em anyway

you are right. i need to do this. off all next weekend, so going to get that stuff this week. need to wiber blades too.
plugs, cap and rotor, wires, o2s, belt, oil and filter, starter and power steering need replacing too. thinking with the belt i will bypass the smog pump and remove it.

Depending on the year of your car you would have to turn off the EGR by tunning it first before you can block it off.

try cleaning the mass air sensor, they make some cleaner to clean it, i heard that in the spring when pollen is real bad that it sticks to the sensor and causes it not to work right, if you cant find the cleaner try compressed air but not to much you could break the sensor. good luck

Get a tweecer base model tuner. Its a laptop tuner that pigtails off the factory ecm. Try cleaning your Idle air motor and check for vacuum leaks too.

whats a place to get the tweecer? ill clusty it but you guys prob know the better places.
