hey, is it true that i have to switch the k member on a v6 foxbody to drop in a 302? i just thought i had to get different motor mounts. lemme know about it, those of you who have done this conversion.

I just dumped a tubular k-member in..

but yes, to answer the question, you have to change it out.

Thats what i was thinking. Or if your doing a budget build look for someone that swapped there stock one for a tubular and see if you can pick up the OE one for cheap.

No you do not.
The 4cyl,V6 and V8 use the same K member.
Only the straight 6 K member needs to be swapped.

^^^ I was gonna say the same thing ... you probably need to swap out the motor mounts though ....

didn't they only come with a straight 6? that's what mine had in it.

nah..they have 4 cylinder, 4 cylinder turbo, v6 straight 6, v8..think stangs have had it all, lol...my fox is a 2.8L v6...same ones that came in some ford rangers....so im good with the stock k member then guys?

well, I guess you're good to go with the k-member then. lol!

2.8s early,3.8s later.You are good to go,need the right
mounts and a double sump pan for your V8.

yeah you're right - the early foxes had straight sixes and the later ones had the V6.....got one in my field right now (with a straight 6)!

I have never seen a fox with a 6cyl. I knew they existed, but for some reason i thought they were only in canada

They are the first Foxes.
