Whenever I turn on my AC my car goes from normal idle of about 700-800RPM to almost stalling out then surges to about 1000RPM then back to about 700-800RPM. Could this be a problem with my AC compressor or clutch or what? It only happens when the AC or defroster is turned on.

sounds to me that your Alt. is not strong enough?

i would pull off the IAC motor and the MAF and clean them both first and then tell me what happens after...also clean the throttle body too....Len

Yep, cleaned the IAC, no more problems. :mick:

and here I thought that smell was emanating from the back end of my Mustang... :snicker:
