ok i have had my 90 lx 4cyl for about 3-4 years now and for the first few my tranny and clutch seemed to be working fine

well about a year or so i had to change the clutch plate and brought it to the Lincoln dealer ship that i worked at ... at the time ... to have one of the tech do it

well a few months after he changed the plate and the 2 clutch cables my 2" snapped ......wile driving to my night job ...

since than i have gone through 4 of the 2" cables ...

have any of u had any issues like this ....

oh and also after the first one broke when i was taking the old cable off i saw that it was put in backwards guessing that may have something to do with it

well let me know if this has happened to u or if u have any idea on how i can fix it

only like 10$ a cable but its a pain when it brakes no where near anywhere

it' spossible the cable is installed wrong causeing it to bind up.

What kind of cable? ford oem? if it's adjustable cable toss it, they are crap, i broke 3 of them. one trick I learned is to lube the cable up with either wd40 or white lithium brease and work it back and forth in the housing to get the lube to coat it.

well from what i was told the v8 and the 4cyl have different cables
the v8 is a single cable set up (on the foxes) and...
the 4cyl is a 2 cable set up one being a short 2" cable (which is the once i keep breaking)
